☀ Qu’est-ce que tu as fait pendant les vacances ? ➤ Expressing opinions in French
Since the question is in the past, you must answer this French GCSE question using the past tense too, here we use the perfect tense in French or the imparfait, because the action is finished and we use the verb to be in the past, like in English, we use the simple past for a finished action ✅
It was ☞ c’était
Note that the ending for the imparfait in French is always either ‘ais’ or ‘ait’ or ‘ions’ and ‘iez’ for the plural part.
All you need to do is to add an adjective, for example ☞ c’était formidable 👍 Can you think of any other adjectives you could use to express your opinion in French ? Write them down in the comments below ✍️

☀ Qu’est-ce que tu as fait pendant les vacances ? ➤ Download the flashcards
Here are the flashcards that you can download and print and use in a number of ways ✅
The suggestions I have to use them are the following :
- Domino game : One card is made up of the picture and a text on the other side, use them as domino, you need to place the next card according to the corresponding text or picture
- Matching game : cut the cards individually and match the text to the corresponding picture
- Memory game : cut the cards individually and place them face down, pick up two cards at a time, you have to match the text and the picture, if it matches, you win a point, if it doesn’t match you place them back face down and you have to remember where they are.
- Mime game: pick up one card and mime the action : the other learner needs to guess what it is and say the sentence in French properly
